Buffalo Police Seek Man in Shooting Incident

Buffalo-area media have reported that police are seeking a Dr. Timothy V. Jorden Jr. as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a woman this morning, June 13, at the Erie County Medical Center.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, this was not a random act. Police ask anyone who has seen Dr. Jorden to call 911.

Dr. Jorden is a trauma surgeon who provides patient care at ECMC. He has been a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½o School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences since 2002. His role involves clinical instruction and supervision of medical students and residents at ECMC.

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½o community is shocked and saddened by this tragic event. The university expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of the victim, and to the entire Erie County Medical Center community.
